Job Description:
  1. Oversee the production processes on the plant.
  2. Monitor, optimize, and ensure efficient, cost-effective process operations.
  3. Proactively plan production according to budget, demand, and schedule.
  4. Adjust production schedules as required based on monitoring.
  5. Make recommendations for repair and routine maintenance of equipment.
  6. Set quality control standards and systems to maintain quality.
  7. Ensure product specification standards are met throughout production.
  8. Develop and implement SOPs for all production processes to ensure high standards.
  9. Plan for chemicals and consumables needed for processes.
  10. Monitor, reconcile, and report inventory daily; report variations and replenishments.
  11. Capture and report all daily production figures.
  12. Monitor and report on downtime daily and monthly.
  13. Ensure hygiene standards and that cleaning schedules are followed.
  14. Assess project and resource needs and make recommendations.
  15. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  16. Participate in policy and procedure maintenance.
  17. Attend safety training and refresher programs.
  18. Follow safety policies and procedures; distribute safety information as needed.
  19. Wear protective clothing where applicable.
  20. Manage and develop employees, ensuring clear job profiles and regular goal reviews.
  21. Support coaching and mentoring to meet objectives.
  22. Develop and implement employee development plans.
  23. Allocate resources effectively to meet operational demands.
  24. Communicate team activities and events effectively.
  25. Plan for succession to meet ongoing business needs.
Health and Safety:
  1. Participate in safety meetings and forums.
  2. Follow up on safety activities and report incidents.
Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualification required; engineering degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience in production and manufacturing, especially in edible oil environment preferred.
  • Experience in team leadership.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards.
  • Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
  • Computer literacy: MS Office, SAP.
