Responsibilities:
Manufacture quality products that are economically viable within the budget and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Citrus Production – concentrate, oils, cells and molasses; and Sub-tropical Production – pulps and concentrate.
Achieve achievable yields that are available from the different fruit varieties, not just the budgeted yields.
Ensure optimum productivity, efficiency, availability, and utilization of all plant, machinery, labour and resources by being innovative and cost effective, therefore decreasing cost per product.
Ensure that coal, electricity, and water are managed to the highest efficiency, and to monitor, report and control the usage and quality thereof to ensure lowest cost per product produced.
Constant monitoring, evaluation and planning of production related to rework and non-confirming product, keeping this product to a set minimum.
Establish and comply with standards relating to productivity, efficiency, availability and utilisation of equipment, labour and resources related to health and safety as well as quality (according to legislation and HACCP procedures).
Ensure that effluent from Citrus and Sub-Tropical plant, during and out of production, are of good standard and quality and that oils and high COD containing effluent does not enter the factory’s normal effluent system.
Manage, develop and train staff to provide them with the ability and skills necessary as well as being responsible for all actions of all staff under your control.
Preservation, control and safe custody of relevant raw materials, stock, equipment and consumer items in production department.
Control and maintenance of equipment, production line layout and functioning.
Compile and manage the annual budget for each production unit.
Report on a regular basis, the productivity, quality and yields received.
Requirements:
At least 5 years’ experience as Production Manager (preferably in a similar environment)
Computer Literate (Excel, Word).
Basic knowledge of pumps and electrical motors.
