Job description

Individual who has a minimum of 2 years of production management experience in the food manufacturing sector. Relevant qualifications include Food Tech, Production Management, or Industrial Engineering. Proven experience with equipment, process flow, and line commissioning, with the capacity to convert requirements into achievable output. This position is for a well-established food producer.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide timely updates to the Factory Manager regarding current or forecasted production issues that may impact resources, requiring adjustments in capacity.
  2. Ensure adherence to quality and food safety standards (QMS and FSP) as agreed with the Technical Manager, monitored and managed through KPIs.
  3. Contribute to achieving the site's annual budget targets and KPIs through structured planning. Manage departmental overheads within budget.
  4. Ensure departmental structure is aligned with business needs and adequately resourced. Develop and maintain succession and development plans for sustainable performance.
  5. Promote a safe working environment, meeting world-class standards in line with the group SHE policy.
  6. Drive safety culture within the department.
  7. Achieve daily line targets and optimize plant capacity.
  8. Drive continuous process improvement.
  9. Develop internal and external customer relationships that inspire confidence in the manufacturing capability.

Requirements:

  1. Minimum of 5 years of progressive food manufacturing experience, including at least 2 years in a substantial management role.
  2. Degree or Advanced Diploma in Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or Production Management, supplemented with formal operational training in production techniques.
  3. Proven knowledge and experience with equipment, process flow, and line commissioning, aligned with quality, throughput, and effectiveness requirements.
  4. Ability to convert requirements into achievable outputs and effectively communicate progress to stakeholders.
  5. Successful project delivery with effective reporting and team leadership.
  6. Ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills and team leadership abilities to maximize human capital across various applications.
