POSITION INFO :

As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all production activities to ensure our manufacturing processes run efficiently, meet quality standards, and adhere to customer deadlines. Your leadership will be crucial in optimizing our production operations and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :

• Develop and manage production schedules to fulfill customer demands.
• Coordinate production activities with other departments to ensure seamless operations.
• Allocate resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximize productivity.
• Monitor and adjust workflows to address bottlenecks and delays.
• Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.
• Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
• Lead, motivate, and manage the production team in line with company policies and industry standards.
• Ensure immediate reporting and resolution of quality issues by subordinates.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and provide necessary training and development.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Promote workplace safety and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Provide practical, hands-on training to team members.
• Communicate clear expectations and consequences of misconduct to the team.
• Manage disciplinary actions and counseling within company guidelines.
• Maintain organizational health and safety standards.
• Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly.
• Ensure all accidents and near misses are reported and addressed.
• Adhere to site-specific food safety principles and standards.
• Report any food safety hazards to the supervisor or manager.
• Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) related to the company’s Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
• Uphold the company''s quality principles and standards.
• Maintain GMP in all production activities.
• Handle all reports and administrative tasks related to the production management role.
• Ensure team members are informed and capable of finding information in your absence.
• Adhere to and exemplify the company''s principles and standards.
• Act as a role model in work ethics and behavior.
• Continuously assess and improve your own strengths and development areas.

Qualifications and Experience :

• Education : Grade 12 (Secondary Education) and NQF 6 in Production Management / Operations Management.
• Experience : Minimum 5 years in a Production Manager role within the manufacturing industry.
• Expertise in Plastic Manufacturing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
