An established manufacturing company is seeking a Manager – Moulding Department to oversee daily operations, ensure consistent productivity and quality, and lead a team in achieving safety and efficiency targets. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, labour management, and continuous improvement across the moulding division.

  • Diploma in Operations or Production Management (or related qualification)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar management position within a manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to lead teams, enforce processes, and deliver results in a high-volume production environment
  • Manage the effective and successful operation of the moulding department, including labour, productivity, quality, and safety
  • Enhance operational procedures and reporting systems to improve efficiency and information flow
  • Organise and manage the departmental budget in collaboration with finance
  • Recruit, train, coach, schedule, and discipline employees to maintain a motivated, accountable team
  • Enforce company policies and ensure compliance with safety and legal regulations
  • Implement and monitor production, quality, and customer service standards
  • Forecast requirements, prepare annual budgets, and manage expenditure control
  • Drive continuous improvement by analysing variances, identifying trends, and initiating corrective actions
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including finance, inventory, and safety to ensure compliance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
  • Represent the moulding department at management meetings, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making

️Additional Insights from Client

  • Automation : The moulding line is automated (but not robotic). Experience with automation is highly advantageous.
  • KPIs : Performance will be measured against budget, people management, downtime, overtime, targets, and safety compliance .
  • Team Size : The department consists of 3 foremen (across 24 hours) and 60 employees , reporting directly to the manager.
  • Challenge Level : This is a busy and challenging department/environment — ideal even for candidates coming from larger operations who want to remain stretched and engaged.
  • Supervisory Layer : 3 foremen act as a layer of supervision under this manager.
  • Collaboration : Works closely with all other production departments, maintenance, quality, and development .
  • Working Hours : Monday–Thursday 07:00–16:00, Friday 08:00–14:30.
  • Availability : While not shift-based, the manager must be available 24/7 for escalated emergencies .
  • Budgeting & Capex : Candidate must be experienced in departmental budgeting and will provide input into capital expenditure proposals (e.g., equipment/tooling).
