Production Manager

PURPOSE
We are seeking a dynamic, energised and experienced Production Manager with a background in Industrial Engineering to take ownership of production in a busy Plastic, packaging and injection moulding environment. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient production, adherence to quality and safety standards and team management.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management or Production Management or similar

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a plastic packaging industry environment, with at least 2 years in a Production Manager role.
2. Strong understanding of production processes, and ability to troubleshoot.
3. Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively.
4. Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems.
5. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
6. Proficient in using MS Office tools.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

1. Plan, organize, and supervise production processes to meet set targets in terms of output, quality, and timelines.
2. Monitor machine performance and coordinate with maintenance team to ensure minimal downtime.
3. Optimize production efficiency by reducing waste and improving cycle times.

1. Manage, train, and motivate a team of operators and assistants on responsible shifts.
2. Conduct shift handovers, performance reviews, and team meetings to ensure alignment with production goals.
3. Address discipline issues and foster a culture of accountability and discipline.

1. Enforce adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure all products meet quality standards.
2. Conduct regular systems checks, processes, products, machinery settings, and documentation.
3. Adhere to root cause analyses and preventative measures when presented with non-conformances.

1. Maintain accurate production records, downtime reports, and waste records.
2. Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports and feedback on output, efficiency, and other KPIs as required.

1. Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting risk assessments.
2. Adhere to all ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
3. Member of the Health and safety committee.
