Job description

A National Diploma in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering (heavy or light current), or qualified Electrician is required, complemented by not less than 8-10 years of solid experience in production, commissioning, and maintenance (planning & execution). Experience in the design and manufacture of equipment and turnkey systems, preferably in the Marine or Oil and Gas environment, is essential. This enables the candidate to apply engineering principles to plan and execute standard and semi-custom production jobs from receipt to completion. During this process, the Production Lead is responsible for the following key activities:

Key Performance Areas (but not limited to):

1. Review and understand product specifications and documentation to determine production requirements.
2. Planning: Develop a product realization plan covering design, procurement, manufacturing (internal and external), resource allocation, testing, and documentation. Prioritize tasks clearly.
3. Execution: Manage all product realization activities according to the plan, implementing mitigation strategies for unexpected deviations.
4. Testing: Ensure all products and projects are tested in accordance with company policies and applicable standards.
5. Commissioning: Fully commission all products and systems before delivery.
6. Documentation: Complete all relevant documentation within a reasonable timeframe and hand it over to the Configuration Department.
7. Packing & Shipping: Ensure products and systems are neatly and safely packed for delivery and assist logistics with shipping arrangements.
8. Compliance: All activities must adhere to the Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure compliance with ISO9000, ISO14000, and ISO18000 standards.
9. Design Liaison: Coordinate with the design department regarding any manufacturing-related design issues.

Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Required:

1. Proficiency in MS Office suite; knowledge of AutoCAD or SolidWorks and ERP software is advantageous.
2. Basic understanding of relevant industry codes such as ASME, ABS, DNV, LRS, IMCA, IMO is advantageous.
3. Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS18001 standards is advantageous.
4. Good interpersonal skills to deal effectively with people in various situations.
5. Assertive, creative, analytical, independent thinker, and problem solver.
6. Excellent communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing).
7. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and deliver quality results on time.
8. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions meticulously.
