Job description

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Product Foreman with a solid Production Background to oversee and optimise production processes in our FMCG manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with proven experience in high-volume production environments, ensuring maximum efficiency, quality, and safety at RFG Foods Pies & Pastries Linbro Business Park.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate a production schedule for the job,
  • Implement and control the production schedule,
  • Determine the human resources required,
  • Determine the material resources required,
  • Manage human and material resources to meet production targets,
  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement,
  • Work out and implement standard operating procedures for production operations,
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to,
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures,
  • Set product quality standards,
  • Monitor quality standards of products,
  • Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives,
  • Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems,
  • Determine and implement improvements to the production process
  • Prepare and maintain production reports,
  • Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement,
  • Estimate production costs,
  • Manage production budgets,
  • Ensure efficient collaboration and co-ordination between relevant departments including procurement, distribution and management
  • Liaising with Production Manager on day to day running of the production
  • Daily, weekly, and Monthly report to Production Manager
  • Attend Production morning meetings
  • Checking time sheet of staff every day and sign it off
  • Able to work in freezer environment
  • Able to work any shift i.e. day, afternoon, night, weekends, and holiday as per business requirements
  • To ensure hygiene and housekeeping is in order.
  • Management and adherence to FSSC 22000 Principles and OHS Act
  • Ensuring correct policies and procedures are followed
  • Responsible for Health and Safety in area of responsibility
  • Participate and support Company's food safety and quality objectives
  • Report all problems with Food Safety to the QA Manager who will initiate and record actions

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric.
  • Diploma in Production or Operations Management.
  • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of raw materials
  • Knowledge of quality systems and standards
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and compliance
  • Knowledge of process improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Knowledge of machines and tools
  • Solid computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership skills
  • 5 years' experience
  • Knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP Principles.
