Production Engineer Kempton Park

Introduction

We are searching for a reliable, innovative production engineer to oversee manufacturing processes at our company.

You will join our growing team of professionals and be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring health and safety codes are followed, training workers in the responsible use of machinery, identifying problems in the production line, troubleshooting equipment, and completing various administrative tasks. To be successful as a production engineer, you should be an independent thinker and a keen problem-solver.

Responsibilities

• Supervise manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
• Liaise with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor requirements.
• Diagnose problems in the production line and provide recommendations and training.
• Establish safety procedures and protocols that prioritize workers' well-being and minimize the carbon footprint.
• Stay updated on advancements in engineering and production, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
• Identify, document, and report unsafe practices.
• Develop production schedules and budgets for projects.
• Schedule meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.
• Analyze all facets of production and recommend improvements.
• Procure necessary materials and equipment.

Desired Experience & Qualifications

• Degree in engineering (Master's degree preferred), Mechanical or Industrial.
• 8-10 years of experience leading and managing production teams.
• Experience in fast-paced production environments.
• Knowledge of steel fabrication processes and maintenance.
• Relevant licenses may be required.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Operations management: minimum 8 years.
• Manufacturing processes and procedures: minimum 8 years.
• Financial and budget control: minimum 3 years.
• Continuous improvement, maintenance, scheduling, and planning: over 5 years.
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Proven engineering experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Leadership abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
