Job description

Our client is the leading supplier of perspex / polymers in South Africa. The applications are varied, including eventing / exhibitions, architectural, farming / food production, and large-scale lighting. We are looking for a Production Controller to join their team.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the receiving process is followed by checking confirmed receipts and inspection of goods.
2. Coordinate offloading and ensure document controls are in place.
3. Ensure that all incoming containers are received with quantities confirmed as per packing lists and that signed documentation is forwarded to the Raw Materials Procurement officer.
4. Maintain stores staff performance through coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees where applicable.
5. Plan daily tasks for all stores staff.
6. Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control, ensuring the availability of merchandise and services by maintaining accurate stock inventories.
7. Ensure daily cycle counts are executed and Pastel is updated accordingly through Stock Adjustment Documents (SAD).
8. Deliver excellent service to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
9. Implement continuous improvement projects for your regional store.
10. Draw up SOPs and work instructions; communicate changes to HR.
11. Ensure all stock requirements (Raw Materials) for Production are issued on time.
12. Allocate all raw materials issued to production to work orders.
13. Conduct daily raw material counts in production to ensure accurate issuance to work orders.
14. Report manufacturing variances daily and escalate when over-usage occurs.
15. Finish and close off work orders once all materials are issued and receipted.
16. Book finished goods into Pastel.
17. Maintain housekeeping in stores.
18. Conduct weekly stock counts of consumables and manage PPE issuance.

Requirements

Salary: R24,000 - R30,000 CTC
