Job description

Production Controller (Branding Solutions) – Johannesburg.

A national branding and promotional solutions company, specialising in corporate gifting, promotional merchandise, and custom branding, is seeking a service-driven, methodical Production Controller.

This is a hands-on role overseeing the production process from product sourcing to order delivery, ensuring timelines, quality, and client expectations are met.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the external Sales Team, liaising directly with clients and coordinating with multiple suppliers to manage different jobs simultaneously. You’ll also oversee artwork approvals, production scheduling, and order tracking to guarantee seamless delivery.

Salary: R15,000 – R18,000 CTC per month.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in sales administration, quoting and/or production.
  • Proven production experience, managing multiple jobs with various suppliers.
  • Experience approving artworks and working with CI guidelines (CAD approvals beneficial).
  • Strong customer service skills with direct client liaison experience.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Highly efficient, organised, and able to multitask.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a target-driven environment.
  • Computer literate (MS Office, Netsuite, Accpac, or Sage).
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong phone presence and willingness to call clients and suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Source promotional products and corporate gifts in line with client specifications.
  • Generate accurate quotes and place purchase orders with suppliers.
  • Plan and coordinate production timelines in line with SLAs.
  • Liaise with the design department for artwork approvals.
  • Provide clear instructions to the production team.
  • Load all relevant order information onto the accounting system.
  • Monitor, track, and follow up on production progress.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of all orders, meeting client deadlines.
  • Suggest alternative products/services to meet urgent client needs.
  • Handle client queries and provide first-line telephonic assistance.
  • Maintain an up-to-date production schedule and client CI knowledge.
  • Brief internal departments to ensure order accuracy and completion.
  • Perform general administrative duties (copying, scanning, filing, etc).
