POSITION DETAILS

JOB PURPOSE

A Production & Technical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production processes in a manufacturing environment, including installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery and equipment.

The client operates in the Laminating and Plastics industry and is ideally looking for candidates from the printing, plastic, manufacturing, or production industries.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Supervise and direct production staff, including task assignment, guidance, and performance monitoring.
  2. Ensure products meet quality standards by monitoring production processes and implementing quality control measures.
  3. Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to optimize efficiency and reduce waste.
  4. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  5. Identify and resolve production issues, such as equipment breakdowns or quality problems.
  6. Coordinate with other departments like quality control, maintenance, and logistics for smooth operations.
  7. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on machinery and tooling.
  8. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and identify solutions.
  9. Conduct inspections and analyze issues to prevent potential problems.
  10. Install new machinery and equipment.
  11. Replace or repair worn or damaged parts.
  12. Maintain records of maintenance and repair activities.
  13. Collaborate with superiors and technicians to resolve complex issues.
  14. Ensure safety protocols are followed.
  15. Design new tooling using CAD when instructed.
  16. Report any quality issues or potential concerns with machinery.
  17. Participate in production activities such as setting up, operating, and training personnel on machines.
  18. Serve as standby for the workshop supervisor when needed.
  19. Report production inefficiencies to the production controller or planner.
