Location: Cape Town, South Africa (Remote Working with UK Team)

R30 000 to R35 000 pm

UK-based innovative AI consultancy and training provider dedicated to accelerating the AI capabilities of organizations seeks a talented Product/UX Designer to join their team from Cape Town. This role involves remote collaboration with a UK-based team to drive the development of our digital products and client projects.

Role Overview:

You will play a pivotal role in the end-to-end delivery of products and projects. You will collaborate closely with our UK-based team to create intuitive, user-friendly experiences for our platforms and various client projects. Your expertise in product design and user experience will be instrumental in shaping the future of our digital presence and AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Design: Create low and high fidelity designs, mock-ups, prototypes, wireframes, visuals, and user flows that guide our engineering team throughout the development lifecycle.
2. Iterative Design: Develop sketches and mock-ups for product demos, incorporating feedback and usability testing results.
3. Collaboration: Participate in internal team meetings, including project status updates, planning sessions, and design critiques. Work effectively within a cross-functional Agile development team.
4. Usability Testing: Utilize ongoing usability testing and assessment techniques to understand user interactions and enhance product experiences.
5. Research: Conduct competitive analysis, user research studies, and emerging industry UI trend analysis. Share findings with the team to inform design decisions.
6. User Feedback: Respond to feedback constructively, valuing criticism to improve designs without taking it personally.
7. Design System Maintenance: Maintain and develop our design system, ensuring consistency across all platforms.
8. Stakeholder Communication: Confidently present designs to obtain buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:

• Experience: A previous Product Design role with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Tools: Ideally proficiency in Adobe XD, Figma, Bubble.io, and Squarespace.
• Problem Solving: Ability to solve complex problems with simple, elegant designs.
• Project Management: Experience leading and managing detailed projects with tight timelines.
• User Research: Expertise in conducting user research and translating feedback into creative design solutions.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Agile Development: Experience working in a cross-functional Agile development team.
• Customer Understanding: Mastery in understanding various customer personas and translating these needs into well-thought-out designs and experiences.
• Systems Thinking: Ability to take a systems thinking approach and apply learnings to the overall strategy of the product.
