Purpose Statement

  • Liaise with the business to formulate business specifications and functional descriptions to meet business requirements.
  • Liaise with the development team to hand over functional descriptions.
  • Compile test plans and ensure delivery aligns with business requirements.
  • Conduct continuous business and industry research to guide the critical evaluation of new and existing software/application solutions.
  • Undertake impact analysis specific to the solution and related changes, including within the solution and affected peer systems.
  • Identify risks, issues, and decisions needed to support project deliverables and scope. This also includes an understanding of Project Management principles (Prince2).
  • Understand and conceptualise the MIS/reporting requirements and needs from the solution.
  • Align the solution and operations with relevant internal and external governance and compliance requirements and prerequisites.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills; including management of teams, expectations, processes, solutions, and operational change.
  • Gather and document business requirements, develop functional and test documentation, and ensure alignment between business needs, technical specifications, and delivery timelines.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Manage testing, production support, and post-implementation validation.
  • Continuously drive innovation and process improvement, while ensuring timely delivery of documentation and solutions aligned with strategic and commercial objectives.

Qualifications (Minimum)

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis
  • Grade 12 National Certificate / Vocational

Experience And Knowledge

Minimum Experience:

  • At least 7 years’ work experience in Business Analysis
  • Proven work experience as a Business Analyst (BA) within a Product Specialist environment
  • Change management
  • Basic project management

Minimum Knowledge

  • Must have detailed knowledge of:
    • Business analysis and design
    • IT systems development processes. End to End experience of development life cycle
    • Application development
    • Testing practices and methodology
    • Banking and IT standards and governance
    • Financial principals
