Product Specialist – Energy Solutions

A vacancy exists at Nashua (Pty) Ltd for a Product Specialist based in Woodmead, reporting to the Senior Manager – Service Delivery.

Purpose: To assist the Nashua Channel with scoping Alternative Energy solutions and compiling the Bill of Material (BOM).

This includes supporting the Franchises in installation, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining all equipment included in the Nashua Alternative Energy services offering (Generators, Batteries, Solar Panels, Inverters, Battery Monitoring Stations BMS, and Solar Charge Controllers MPBT), ensuring compliance with all electrical standards and safety regulations.

You will be responsible for second line support and training for the Nashua Franchise Channel and escalations to Vendors.

The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail.

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with other team members and the Franchises to ensure efficient knowledge transfer and support for our Franchises.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Forecasting and demand planning to improve stock levels for the respective segments.
2. Collaborate and work with EPC, OEM, Distributor, Franchise, and Customer project teams.
3. Assist on pre-sales as and when required to do so on projects.
4. Install loggers on specific sites as when required to do so.
5. Interpret logging and utility consumption reports and provide data-driven insights that inform design and provide key inputs into projects.
6. Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.
7. Perform electrical fault-finding, troubleshooting, and repairs.
8. Ensure all work complies with SANS (South African National Standards) and relevant regulations.
9. Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
10. Conduct electrical inspections and issue Certificates of Compliance (CoC).
11. Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems.
12. Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper function and safety.
13. Collaborate with other trades and contractors on-site.
14. Maintain accurate records of work performed.
15. Adhere to safety procedures and company policies.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

1. Matric.
2. Trade Test Certificate (Qualified Electrician).
3. Wireman's License (Valid and recognized by relevant authorities).
4. Minimum 3-5 years of electrical experience (post-qualification).
5. Valid Driver's License.
6. Experience working with single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
7. Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.
8. Ability to use electrical testing equipment and tools.
9. Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
10. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Willingness to travel when required.
13. Willingness to work overtime when required.
