Product Owner (Integrations and Connectivity) – Stellenbosch.
Product Owner with a formal qualification and minimum 10 years’ integration services and connectivity specialist experience, including 5 years’ technical product management or ownership within the Fintech / Telecom / Software Integration industry, required to lead the design, development, and management of the integration services and connectivity platforms for a Fintech company based in Stellenbosch.
Minimum requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience, including 5 years’ product management or ownership in fintech, telecom, or software integration essential
- Technical expertise in APIs and RESTful services required
- Practical experience in telephony, mobile networks, messaging, payments, banking, or credit bureau integrations required
- Product management certification – Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM, Product School, SAFe PM/PO highly advantageous
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies like Jira, Confluence, and other collaboration platforms required
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills essential
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end product lifecycle, leading the design, development, and management of integration services and connectivity platforms
- Maintain and define product vision, roadmaps, and backlog for all integration-related services
- Implement and monitor telephony systems, including PABX and VoIP, in collaboration with the Platform Team
- Lead integrations with mobile network operators to enable messaging, payments, USSD, and WhatsApp-based services across multiple African markets
- Oversee banking and payment gateway integrations to support disbursements, direct debits, EFTs, and financial transactions
- Manage credit bureau and data provider integrations to enhance lending decisions and ensure regulatory compliance
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to ensure secure, scalable, and high-performance integrations
- Ensure integrations include real-time monitoring and metrics to track system health, diagnose issues, and drive improvement
- Serve as the primary liaison with external technology partners for integration initiatives
