Salary: R540,000 - R660,000 per annum

The Role

We’re seeking a delivery-focused Product Owner to join our growing team in Cape Town. Reporting to the Senior Product Manager, you will work closely with internal stakeholders and development teams to turn strategic ideas into fully executed product releases. You’ll act as the voice of the customer, ensuring that what we build brings real value to our partners and their customers.

You'll manage the product backlog, write detailed user stories, and help shape features that improve our Refund Protect and Protect Plus offerings, while supporting the broader Protect Marketplace roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Backlog: Translate high-level strategy and initiatives into user stories, tickets, and priorities for development teams.
• Define Requirements: Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria in collaboration with stakeholders and developers.
• Sprint Planning & Agile Delivery: Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring teams remain aligned and focused.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Gather input from commercial, support, and tech teams to prioritise product features based on impact and feasibility.
• User-Centric Focus: Represent the customer perspective to ensure product increments truly meet user needs and deliver tangible value.
• Documentation & Process: Maintain product playbooks and documentation, using a “why-first” approach to decision-making.
• Compliance Awareness: Work with internal teams to ensure new features meet relevant data and regulatory requirements.
• Continuous Improvement: Use analytics, user feedback, and testing to iterate quickly, learn fast, and continuously enhance product outcomes.

Key Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 3+ years in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or delivery-focused role, ideally in SaaS or digital product environments.
• Agile Expertise: Practical knowledge of Scrum or Kanban; strong understanding of Agile principles and ceremonies.
• Analytical Mindset: Confident using data to inform priorities and track success metrics.
• Technical Fluency: Comfortable collaborating with developers; basic understanding of APIs and integration concepts.
• Problem Solver: Curious, logical thinker who challenges assumptions and thrives on improving processes and products.
• Collaboration & Communication: Effective communicator who works well across design, tech, commercial, and operations teams.
• Tools (Desirable): Familiarity with Jira, Miro, Figma, Google Workspace, and Slack is a plus.
