Product Owner

Are you a Product Owner with a strong technical foundation and a passion for delivering high-quality product experiences?

Our client, a high-growth FinTech, is looking for a key hire to strengthen their product capability.

This role is crucial in bridging the gap between business and technology, ensuring the development of market-driven, profitable products. Reporting to the CTO, you will drive product optimisation, strategy, and execution across the business.

This is a hands-on role where you'll lead by influence, aligning teams and ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define what to build and why, ensuring product viability and alignment with business goals.
2. Develop and own the product roadmap, prioritising based on customer needs and market opportunities.
3. Optimise existing products to enhance client experience and increase profitability.
4. Ensure technology and product decisions align with the business strategy.
5. Write user stories and run workshops to define product requirements.
6. Engage in market research and directly gather customer feedback.
7. Work across business, tech, and commercial teams to drive execution.
8. Support data-driven decision-making, embedding analytics into the product process.
9. Lead without direct authority, aligning teams and driving shared vision.
10. Influence Exco and key stakeholders, advocating for product decisions.
11. Work collaboratively across business units, engineering, and design teams.
12. Sell ideas internally and gain buy-in from leadership without hierarchy.

Required Experience:

1. 3+ years' experience in product management, product ownership, or similar role.
2. 5+ years' experience in a digital product environment, leading product improvements.
3. Background in FinTech, banking, or financial services preferred.
4. Strong technical knowledge – experience with APIs, system integrations, and digital product development.
5. Agile experience essential – familiarity with Scrum and working in cross-functional squads.
6. Understanding of Salesforce and Python (preferred but not mandatory).
7. Strong data-driven mindset, using analytics to drive decisions.
