Job Description
This role involves developing and implementing robust product strategies aligned with business objectives, focusing on volume and market share growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct market mapping and segment analysis, forecasting volume targets based on industry trends and economic indicators.
- Perform detailed price-volume mapping and competitor pricing analysis to define strategic positioning.
- Manage product specifications and unique selling propositions through rigorous competitive benchmarking.
- Oversee a diverse portfolio including SUVs, LCVs, and commercial vehicles.
- Drive periodic performance reviews and life cycle action plans to adapt to evolving market needs.
- Lead spec management and product variant control with internal and global teams.
- Address technical and warranty issues through cross-functional collaboration.
- Design and manage research programs to gather market insights and inform product development.
- Organize customer clinics, focus groups, and dealer engagements for feedback collection.
- Conduct visits with rental and fleet clients to understand fleet-specific needs.
Marketing & Launch Execution
- Develop integrated marketing strategies for product launches, leveraging key USPs and customer insights.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to define target customer profiles and craft compelling messaging.
- Lead launch planning across departments, consolidating go-to-market strategies for approval.
Product & Accessory Development
- Identify opportunities for local product variants based on unmet customer needs.
- Collaborate on local part development, ensuring compliance with technical and homologation standards.
- Support accessory development initiatives to enhance vehicle appeal.
Project Management & Communication
- Manage project timelines and milestones for new model launches in coordination with global teams.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, track action items, and mitigate risks.
- Deliver impactful product presentations and training materials internally and externally.
Qualifications & Experience
- Honours degree in Marketing (BCom / BA); engineering background advantageous.
- 7-10 years of professional experience, with at least 3-5 years in product marketing or planning.
- Minimum 5 years in an automotive OEM setting.
- Skills in market research, pricing strategy, product lifecycle management, and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & PowerPoint).
- Experience working with R&D, technical teams, and accessory development is highly beneficial.
