Product Manager : Water Treatment

Brenntag SA is looking for an experienced Product Manager to strategically manage a portfolio of products for assigned industry segments, ensuring reliable and competitive product supply and achievement of targeted gross margins.

The role also involves identifying new market opportunities in collaboration with suppliers.

Responsibilities

1. Market knowledge and strategy development for segment implementation.
2. Sourcing and Costing.
3. Execute supplier approval and vendor rating.
4. Negotiate (budget) volumes, price, contracts.
5. Increasing exclusive supplier business.
6. Reporting - internally and to principles.
7. Identifying new suppliers for potential strategic products.
8. Provide product expertise, and define core product/supplier combinations, manage key contracts and suppliers.
9. Ensure sustainable availability of products.
10. Optimize stocks and manage slow movers/obsolete stocks.
11. Support procurement department - forecasts to sales team.
12. Handle major complaints and claims.
13. Product performance reviews.
14. Maintain Good Housekeeping Practices in your area of responsibility.
15. Adhere to Company Standard Operating Procedures & Policies.

Qualifications & Experience

1. Matric or equivalent.
2. Tertiary qualification in commercial field/sciences.
3. Experience working with Water Treatment mandatory.
4. 5 – 7 years' experience in a Product Management/Marketing function that includes managing complex and or significant Supplier relationships and key accounts (Water Treatment).
5. Experience in chemical industry/distribution preferred.
6. SAP experiences advantageous.
7. Experience with CRM and MS Office.
8. Must have a sound understanding of pricing structures.
9. Ability to understand the complete commercial pipelines and resolve issues in area of responsibility.
10. Strong knowledge of import/export, regulatory and logistics management.
11. Able to work effectively cross-functionally and with other business units' functional areas to achieve company-wide objectives.
