The purpose of the Product Manager - VAS is to partner with the business to establish business requirements and product feature definitions for each product within the portfolio.
Responsibilities
Manage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap within the product area in support of business goals.
Drive full product lifecycle initiatives from inception to launch, working closely with relevant stakeholders.
Maintain a deep understanding of VAS systems, customer journeys, industry best practices, and use these insights to drive a product maturity plan.
Enable the roadmap to deliver scale of the VAS business across all channels and categories.
Evaluate different technology options, APIs, and capabilities to establish integration plans based on business requirements.
Ensure document management for all new product configurations, development, and process changes.
Monitor emerging technical and functional trends to ensure products stay relevant and meet business needs.
Lead end-to-end product improvement processes that deliver agile and coordinated change.
Ensure products conform to legal, risk, and governance criteria.
Recommend processes to facilitate data availability and ensure data integrity.
Oversee end-to-end testing and communicate status to stakeholders.
Engage with the CX Helpdesk to monitor issues and provide second-level support.
Lead a cross-functional product team, ensuring role clarity and collaboration in an agile environment.
Collaborate with demand teams to deploy solutions effectively across the user community.
Experience and Skills
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IS, or related field.
Appropriate Specialist IT Certification is an advantage.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a technology product management environment.
At least 8 years' overall experience within IT/Tech Services roles.
Experience managing third-party developers for application design and updates.
Experience in VAS platforms and integrations with third parties (e.g., airtime providers, betting providers).
Experience in retail or FMCG environment is preferred.
Experience working in an agile environment is preferred.
