JOB PURPOSE

The Product Manager (PM) will be responsible for overseeing the entire product life cycle of the Legacy Portable Gas detection and Environmental Monitoring Systems, from concept to market release and beyond. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in product management, a deep understanding of the mining industry, and a passion for advancing safety technologies.

JOB PURPOSE

The Product Manager (PM) will be responsible for overseeing the entire product life cycle of the Legacy Portable Gas detection and Environmental Monitoring Systems, from concept to market release and beyond. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in product management, a deep understanding of the mining industry, and a passion for advancing safety technologies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, business, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in product management, preferably in the development of safety or mining-related technologies.
  • Has at least 10 years’ experience in the mining industry.
  • Deep understanding of gas detection instrumentation, systems, and Environmental Monitoring Systems or related safety technologies.
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget. (Proof to be presented)

RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Strategy and Vision

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to define a clear product vision.
  • Formulate a robust product and market strategy aligned with Schauenburg Systems' overall business objectives.
  • Derive product requirements from market requirements, product strategy, and vision.

Product Development

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and quality assurance, to drive the development of OSS (Occupational Safety Solutions) systems and products.
  • Coordinate and conduct R&D to ensure the product aligns with cutting-edge technologies and industry standards.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to inform development decisions.
  • Responsible for coordinating lab-scale testing, on-site testing, and site trials.

Project Management

  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Prioritize tasks, manage resources effectively, and navigate potential roadblocks to keep the project on track.
  • Responsible for document configuration of designs, requirements, certifications, approvals, training materials, manuals, bill of materials, test and trial results, etc.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Interface with key stakeholders, including customers, internal teams, and external partners, to gather feedback and ensure alignment with market needs.
  • Communicate project updates, timelines, and milestones to various stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement rigorous testing protocols to ensure that the products and systems meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to identify and address any product deficiencies promptly.

Market Launch

  • Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy, including product positioning, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to create compelling product messaging and collateral.
  • Coordinate and support Proof of Concepts (PoC) activities.

Post-Launch Management

  • Monitor product performance in the market and gather user feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to address any issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
