A leading technology company in Johannesburg is seeking a Product Manager for the Audio Visual & Video Collaboration category. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in product management within the Unified Communication industry, driving strategic planning and financial performance while ensuring market share growth. Strong financial and communication skills are essential. This is a permanent position with a semi-formal dress code.
MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION: To manage and grow the Audio Visual & Video Collaboration product category in line with the company's strategic direction.
The Product Manager ensures the financial performance, marketing effectiveness, partner enablement, and operational readiness required to meet vendor and internal targets.
The role involves proactive product ownership, cross-team collaboration, and the execution of tactical plans that support market share growth and customer satisfaction.
The Product Manager – Audio Visual & Video Collaboration (AV&VC) is responsible for driving the success of the AV&VC product portfolio through strategic planning, financial oversight, marketing execution, and operational efficiency.
This role includes product lifecycle management, vendor engagement, channel enablement, and revenue accountability.
The Product Manager ensures alignment with business goals by managing budgets, CRM systems, training programs, and cross-functional coordination to grow sales and profitability across the Audio Visual & Video Collaboration space.
Budgets & Income Statements: Own and achieve revenue, gross profit (GP), and net profit (NP). Track, review, and manage annual budgets. Deliver accurate forecasting and reporting. Conduct monthly reviews of income statements vs budgets. Ensure expenses stay within approved budgets. Host regular meetings with Finance, Vendors, and Marketing for budget alignment.
Monitor monthly Net Profit and Turnover vs targets. Proactively identify gaps and implement corrective actions.
Perform daily expense tracking and ensure accurate cost and rebate allocations. Manage vendor credits and mitigate margin erosion. Forecast revenue and GP for assigned areas. Ensure brand profitability through effective pricing and vendor incentives.
CRM & Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate CRM records. Drive weekly pipeline and review meetings. Report on stock, sales, and project forecasts. Provide feedback on CRM workflows.
Manage stock levels, order cycles, and storage. Track and reduce aged, slow-moving, obsolete stock. Collaborate on clearance strategies. Use data analytics for demand forecasting.
Optimize processes for efficiency and customer satisfaction. Ensure supply chain and logistics are seamless. Monitor service levels and turnaround times. Maintain compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Mitigate financial and operational risks.
Build relationships with vendors and suppliers. Negotiate terms and drive engagement strategies. Ensure contractual and SLA compliance. Manage vendor performance and joint business plans. Track MDF usage and support incentive programs.
Develop and manage relationships with channel partners and resellers. Implement engagement and enablement strategies. Drive partner sales through training and incentives. Monitor compliance and satisfaction. Address feedback and challenges proactively. Enhance partner experience and loyalty.
Promote company values. Mentor staff and support a culture of learning. Lead, develop, and train high-performing teams. Conduct internal training sessions. Maintain product knowledge resources. Schedule customer training and certification. Provide enablement tools and support for sales activities.
During the first week, you'll receive a detailed onboarding and training plan.
Note: This is a permanent position, subject to a 3-month probation. Duties may evolve, and you must perform all assigned tasks diligently and in good faith.
