Our client based in Johannesburg is urgently looking for a Product Manager to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Formal Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree: Computer Science, ICT, Product Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications in Product Management are beneficial.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a Product Management role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Fintech or Product Accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Agile/Scrum/Waterfall Project Management.
- Strong innovation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Experience with Microsoft Jira and Confluence Project Management Tools.
- Ability to communicate complex data concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Job Related Experience
- Experience working under tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
- Strong understanding of business process flows, data governance, and documentation best practices.
- Responsible for orchestrating the various activities associated with ensuring that a product is delivered that meets users' needs.
- The role varies as the software moves through its lifecycle; earlier in the development process, the product manager meets the intended audience of the product to engage in requirements elicitation.
- Later in the lifecycle, the product manager's primary focus will be on acceptance testing of the product.
- Throughout all stages of the product development process, the product manager represents the needs of end-users, evaluates market trends and competition, and uses this information to determine what features to build.
- The Product Manager will decide a feature is needed because users are asking for it or because the feature is needed to stay competitive.
- To facilitate this decision-making process, the product manager will set out a vision for the product or a general framework for making product decisions.
- The Product Manager also ensures an atmosphere of cohesiveness and focused collaboration between all the members of the team, all in the interest of driving the product forward.
- Product Managers will sit at the intersection of business, design, and technology.
