Job description

The Role Purpose

The purpose of the job will be to lead the design, development, launch, and lifecycle management of software solutions, specifically focusing on software management products in the IoT environment, including Cell Site Management (CSM) for Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Tower companies, as well as Utility and Energy customers. This role requires a blend of strategic vision and tactical execution to ensure product alignment with market needs and business goals.

Your Responsibilities will include:

Define the Market

Conduct comprehensive market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and the competitive landscape in IoT environments.

Develop a deep understanding of customer personas, market segments, and regulatory requirements.

Identify opportunities for new products or enhancements to existing products.

Define the Product

Develop and maintain a clear product vision and strategy that aligns with business goals and market demands.

Define detailed product requirements, user stories, and features based on customer feedback and market insights.

Ensure product specifications meet the technical and operational needs of IoT environments such as Cell Site Management and Utility and Energy Management.

Build the Product

Oversee the product development process, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap and timely delivery.

Prioritize features and requirements based on business value and customer impact.

Test the Product

Develop comprehensive testing strategies to ensure product quality and performance.

Collaborate with QA teams to conduct rigorous testing, including unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance tests.

Ensure products meet regulatory and compliance standards specific to IoT environments.

Launch the Product

Plan and execute successful product launches

Develop and implement marketing campaigns to generate product awareness and drive adoption.

Support the Product

Monitor product performance and customer satisfaction post-launch.

Develop training and support materials and resources to enable customer success and product utilization.

Evolve the Product

Drive iterative product development to enhance functionality and user experience.

Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to incorporate relevant innovations.

Retire the Product

Develop and implement strategies for the end-of-life phase of the product lifecycle.

Ensure a smooth transition for customers, including migration paths to new products or solutions.

Communicate product retirement plans clearly and effectively to all stakeholders.

Domain Expert

Serve as a subject matter expert on IoT technologies and their application in Cell Site Management, Utilities, Energy, Energy and Asset tracking.

The ideal candidate for the role will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field.
  • Certification: Product Management and/or Software Product Design, an advantage
  • Certification: Scrum Product Owner – advantage.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years strong work experience in Product Management in Software or Hardware Management solutions or related products.
  • Experience in related technology industry such a telecommunications, Energy, Utilities or SCADA.
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies and product management tools.
  • Experience in customer journey mapping, user experience research, and persona development / understanding
  • Ability to engage external partners / entities related to the product such as bodies of practice, agencies and societies
  • Demonstrable experience in following a digital product development cycle
  • Demonstrable understanding of modern application architectures
