Job summary

A leading company in the cosmetics sector is seeking a Product Development Manager to spearhead the development of new cosmetic products. The role involves formulating products, understanding regulations, and ensuring compliance with packaging standards. This position requires a minimum of a BSc degree and relevant experience in the industry.

Qualifications

Job description

Product Development Manager - Cosmetics entity requires the expertise of a Manager who can steer and develop new product development.

Position Details:

Reporting to: Manager

Seniority Level: Mid Career (4 - 6 yrs exp)

Region: Western Cape

Location: CPT - Northern Suburbs

Type: Permanent

Responsibilities and Requirements:
  • Degree in: BSc Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or related discipline.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in cosmetic product development or formulation, preferably in skincare, fragrance, body care, or personal care.
  • Experience in producing basic formulations and managing internal lab processes.
  • Experience in small-scale production environments and/or entrepreneurial businesses is advantageous.
  • Computer literacy: MS Office.
  • Knowledge of regulations regarding product labeling, ingredients, testing, and claims in cosmetics.
  • Knowledge of packaging and packaging technology in cosmetics.
  • Familiarity with CTFA, EU Cosmetic Regulations, and clean beauty requirements.
  • Experience in creating scaled-up Methods of Manufacture to GMP standards for laboratory-developed cosmetics.
