Job summary

Kerry Kopp Recruitment is seeking a proactive NPD support professional in South Africa to assist the NPD manager and technologist with coordinating projects and developing recipes tailored to customer requirements.

You will prepare kitchen samples, support factory trials, conduct organoleptic reviews and manage documentation including nutritional analyses and feedback. Strong MS Office and project coordination experience are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in Food Technology, Product Development or Research & Development.
• Experience in an FMCG environment is advantageous.
• Project management experience would be advantageous.
• Strong computer literacy with MS Office tools including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist the NPD manager and NPD technologist with coordinating NPD projects.
• Assist in developing recipes for new products per customer requirements.
• Prepare kitchen samples and support factory trials and first productions.
• Conduct organoleptic reviews and analytical analyses on product trials.
• Manage documentation related to product development (tasting sheets, nutritional analysis, feedback, results).
• Coordinate external product testing (nutritional, shelf-life, etc.).
• Assist with product costings and supplier information.

Key Performance Areas

• Assisting the NPD manager and NPD technologist with the coordination of various NPD projects
• Assist NPD technologist in developing recipes for new products specific to customer requirements
• Prepare kitchen samples and support factory trials and first productions
• Conduct organoleptic reviews and analytical analyses on product trials
• Manage documentation relating to product development, including tasting sheets, nutritional analysis, customer feedback and analytical results
• Coordinate external product testing, including nutritional, shelf-life and other required testing
• Assist with product costings and obtaining supplier information
• Assist with customer presentations and follow-up on product tasting feedback
• Liaise with internal departments and suppliers throughout the product development process

Experience:

• Previous experience in Food Technology, Product Development or Research & Development
• Experience in an FMCG environment will be advantageous
• Project management experience would be advantageous
• Strong computer literacy, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
