Job summary

Absa Bank Limited is seeking a detail-oriented GL & Reconciliation Clerk to balance general ledger and suspense accounts, clear items weekly, and prepare journals for clearance. The role involves daily and monthly recons, month-end recons, and ensuring sign-off by the Manager.

You will attach source reports, resolve queries via phone or email, identify trends, and assist with data integrity across CAMS and Millennium systems.

Qualifications

• NQF level 4 or Grade 12 equivalent.
• Experience in similar role (12 months) and English speaking.
• Knowledge of accounting principles.
• Familiarity with CAMS and Millenium systems.

Responsibilities

• Balance general ledger accounts and suspense items.
• Prepare daily and monthly recons and month-end recons.
• Attach source system reports for approvals and maintain documentation.
• Respond to queries via telephone or email and escalate issues.
• Identify trends and propose process improvements.
