Job Summary
Maintains product levels and quality control in produce and floral departments. Ensures fresh fruits and vegetables are displayed according to company standards and all regulatory food safety practices. Promotes customer service and sales building practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains full stock conditions on produce and floral display racks, tables, and shelves.
- Operates pallet jack to unload products from warehouse trucks and reloads trucks with return items (must be 18+).
- Ensures dated products are stocked, rotated, or discarded properly if unsold.
- Inspects products for quality and maintains quality control and food safety standards.
- Collects empty cardboard boxes and other trash for disposal.
- Assists customers by responding to price check questions and locating products.
- Promotes product sales through suggestive selling initiatives.
- Provides friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and addressing complaints.
- Maintains a clean and safe working and shopping environment following company safety procedures.
- Practices high sanitary standards when handling raw and uncooked food products.
- Uses safety precautions when operating equipment and tools, including sharp objects.
- Cuts and trims products to ensure high-quality presentation under supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to operate manual or electric pallet jacks (must be 18+).
- Ability to operate and maintain department equipment safely.
- Careful handling of objects to prevent damage and injury.
- Ability to work with sharp objects safely.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

- Willingness to learn new systems and methods.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Minimum 16 years of age; 18+ to operate motorized equipment.
- On-the-job training provided.
Physical Demands
- Continuous use of vision, standing, walking, reaching, and handling.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs continuously and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
- Occasional climbing, balancing, and crawling.
Work Environment
- Primarily in retail store settings.
- Occasional exposure to cold, wet, or damp conditions and cleaning agents.
- Moderate noise levels.
