We’re seeking a Procurement Specialist (Non-Production Spend) to drive success at NBL Head Office in Bryanston, Johannesburg. This role is designed to facilitate the implementation of procurement best practices and improve efficiency in factory processes through standardization, supplier management, and continuous improvement. The role includes tracking benefits and working closely with factory stakeholders to ensure supplier performance management is embedded and executed effectively.

Reporting Structure : Reports to: National Logistics Manager

Key Areas of Impact
Non-production spend procurement
  • Own non-production spend procurement projects, conducting analysis and presenting insights on cost savings and operational efficiencies.
  • Engage vendors and negotiate SLA agreements for key suppliers.
  • Manage key suppliers for repairs, maintenance, and services as required.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure sound procurement practices and compliance.
Process Ownership
  • Own, manage, and improve procurement processes across the NBL supply chain.
  • Develop future strategies, present proposals, and obtain senior management approval.
  • Make daily tactical decisions aligned with procurement strategy.
  • Take corrective actions as needed and communicate impacts.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and engagement across all levels.
  • Resolve queries related to procurement processes.
Standardization & Improvement of Procurement Processes
  • Investigate current practices, identify excellence areas, develop standards, and implement across all sites.
  • Manage process change and remove roadblocks.
  • Map processes and make necessary adjustments.
  • Develop presentations and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Track improvements and ensure implementation at all sites.
Project Coordination
  • Coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder projects simultaneously.
  • Ensure projects are executed according to best practices and stakeholders are trained.
  • Manage interconnected projects and understand impacts of changes.
  • Address negative outcomes and share positive results.
Supply Chain Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Generate and monitor reports regularly.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to support decisions and process improvements.
  • Support junior team members in report quality.
  • Analyze data to derive insights for decision-making.
  • Develop business cases, execute, track, and adjust as needed.
What It Takes to Succeed
Experience Needed
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Procurement Specialist handling non-production spend (MRO & Services).
  • Prior buying experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in FMCG industry is essential.
Qualifications & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, focusing on Procurement, Supply Chain, or Project Management.
  • Honours degree in the same fields is a plus.
Additional Requirements
  • Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Spend System Management and Reporting.
  • Project management skills.
  • Adherence to compliance, governance, and ethics.
  • Strong business acumen to enhance performance.
