Job description

Procurement Officer

Performs procurement-related tasks in accordance with project and/or company procedures and plans, ensuring strict compliance. Primarily responsible for the purchase of goods and services, with potential involvement in other procurement activities as needed.

  • Purchasing Administration
  • Supply Chain Administration
  • Procurement Administration
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in the Petrochemical industry
  • Issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs)
  • Processing purchase orders on the system
  • Track open POs and order statuses to ensure timely delivery
  • Communicate delays or issues in supply to management proactively
  • Analyze received quotes to recommend the best option
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms
  • Research alternative suppliers for vendor approval
  • Promote a corporate culture of teamwork, accountability, and process ownership
  • Ensure quality assurance and cost control
  • Arrange transport for collection and deliveries
  • Experience with Pastel 50 and/or Sage Intacct is advantageous
  • Experience handling large procurement volumes
  • Understanding of value for money principles
  • Fluent in Afrikaans and English
