We are a global candy / confectionary company developing and manufacturing an array of products. It is one of the leading suppliers of confectionary products in all major markets including wholesale, retail and informal markets.

Role Description

1.Procurement Strategy Development:

a.Develop and implement effective procurement strategies, including sourcing, supplier selection, and negotiation, to ensure cost-effective procurement of raw materials, packaging, and other goods and services required for Aldor Africa .

2.Supplier Relationship Management:

a.Build and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers, ensuring their compliance with quality standards, delivery schedules, and contractual agreements.

b.Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

3.Inventory Control:

a.Oversee inventory management processes, including forecasting demand, monitoring stock levels, and conducting periodic inventory audits.

b.Ensure optimal inventory levels are maintained to meet production requirements while minimizing carrying costs.

4.Cost Optimization:

a.Identify areas for cost savings and negotiate favorable contracts with suppliers to achieve the best possible pricing and terms.

b.Leverage volume discounts, explore alternative sourcing options, and implement cost reduction strategies.

5.Quality Assurance:

a.Collaborate with the quality control team to establish quality standards for raw materials and packaging materials.

b.Conduct quality audits at supplier facilities to ensure compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements.

6.Risk Management:

a.Identify and mitigate supply chain risks that could affect the continuity of candy production.

b.Develop contingency plans and supplier qualification procedures to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.

7.Team Management:

a.Lead and supervise the procurement team, providing guidance and support in their daily activities.

b.Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and promote professional development opportunities.

8.Compliance:

a.Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement activities, including ethical sourcing practices, environmental sustainability, and safety standards.

9.Data Analysis and Reporting:

a.Collect, analyse, and report on procurement-related data, such as spend analysis, supplier performance metrics, and cost savings achieved.

b.Utilize data insights to drive continuous improvement and inform decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Skills:

1.Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a relevant field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is desirable.

2.5 – 7 years Proven experience as a procurement manager in a Aldor Africa or FMCG environment.

3.Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, including strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and inventory control.

4.Familiarity with FMCG industry dynamics, including supply chain challenges, market trends, and regulatory requirements.

5.Proficiency in using procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.

6.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

7.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

8.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

9.A proactive and result-oriented approach.
