Location: Germiston

Salary: R25 000 - R30 000

Role: Procurement Officer

CTCA Procurement officer plays a vital role in an organization's ability to secure the necessary resources efficiently and cost-effectively. A Procurement Officer must balance supplier relationships, financial considerations, and compliance with regulations to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Minimum requirements :

  • Matric
  • A tertiary qualification would be beneficial
  • MUST BE ABLE TO SPEAK AFRIKAANS AND ENGLISH FLUENTLY

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sourcing Suppliers: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, vendors, or contractors, including conducting market research to find the best options in terms of quality, cost, and reliability.
  2. Supplier Negotiations: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms, to secure advantageous agreements for the organization.
  3. Purchase Order Management: Generate purchase orders and manage procurement documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  4. Cost Analysis: Analyze and compare supplier quotations and cost proposals to make informed decisions that align with budgetary constraints and quality standards.
  5. Vendor Assessment: Continuously assess the performance of suppliers, monitor adherence to contracts, and resolve any issues or disputes.
  6. Inventory Management: Collaborate with relevant departments to monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock levels to meet operational needs while minimizing excess inventory.
  7. Compliance: Ensure procurement activities comply with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements, including procurement laws and ethical sourcing practices.
  8. Budget Management: Work within budget constraints to optimize spending and minimize procurement costs.
  9. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate procurement records and produce regular reports on procurement metrics for management review.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to improve procurement processes and achieve cost savings.
  11. Foreign Purchasing: Place purchase orders with international suppliers.
