Job summary

A global leader in heavy equipment manufacturing is seeking a Procurement Officer to optimize sourcing processes and manage suppliers. The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, 3-5 years of experience in procurement, and knowledge of SAP R/3. This role, based in Germiston, includes responsibilities in vendor management and implementation of sourcing strategies. Candidates must be proactive problem solvers with strong negotiation skills.

Procurement Officer 7/31/25 Wadeville, Germiston, Gauteng, ZAF, 33725 Onsite Position

The position will be based in Wadeville, and the incumbent will report to the Specialist Tactical Procurement.

Job Specification (not totally inclusive)

1. Sourcing of goods and services as per specified requirement using tactical sourcing method.
2. Following a three-quote system and an adjudication process for all purchases.
3. Converting purchase requisition to purchase orders, in line with procure to pay process.
4. Managing queries related to procure to pay process.
5. Ensure all outstanding orders are followed up on and closed off the system where applicable.
6. Executing end-to-end Open Tender and RFI processes.
7. Setting up Contracts /Service Level Agreements with selected suppliers and managing contract register accordingly.
8. Price adjustment implementation according to Komatsu policies and procedures.
9. Maintaining SAP pricing and sourcing master data according to the implemented sourcing strategies.
10. Implementing and improving sourcing strategies to ensure cost and continuous improvement.
11. Identifying savings opportunities and prepare monthly savings report.
12. Ensuring that the procurement of goods and services is consistent with the procurement policy and business requirements.
13. Developing and maintaining constructive and cooperative working relationships with internal customers, external customers, colleagues, and management.
14. Implementing Localization Strategies and report to relevant internal and external structures on localization.
15. Identifying process improvements and aligning processes with Procurement Policy.
16. Performing any other work delegated/assigned within Indirect Procurement and reporting as necessary.

Minimum Skills Required

1. Grade 12.
2. Must have a Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management or at least NQF level 6 qualification.
3. 3-5 years’ experience in procurement of industrial commodities in a Manufacturing environment.
4. Understanding of vendor on-boarding procedures and material master data related requests.
5. Proven experience in executing projects and supporting internal customers.
6. Working knowledge of contracts, RFx, and BBBEE.
7. SAP R/3 experience; computer literacy in MS Office suite.
8. Driver’s license and own reliable transport.
