Job description

My client, a leading and well-known retailer based in Woodstock, Cape Town, requires a competent and experienced procurement manager to join their team.

The role reports to the Finance Administration Manager.

Core responsibilities

  1. Manage the day-to-day operations of the Procurement department.
  2. Oversee procurement of Office Furniture at Head Office, Divisional Offices, and Branches.
  3. Manage procurement of staff uniforms & stationery at Head Office and Branches.
  4. Conduct monthly sectional stock takes, including the annual stock take.
  5. Review business processes & systems to achieve efficiencies, controls, and cost savings.
  6. Process orders, GRVs, invoices, credit notes, and Journals on Pastel.
  7. Handle departmental month-end procedures & activities on Pastel.
  8. Manage special projects and resolve supplier issues and conflicts.
  9. Oversee staff issues and coordinate with internal departments.
  10. Prepare monthly statements for all chains.
  11. Manage statement requirements for Marketing & Customer Management systems.
  12. Review data for statements.
  13. Generate management reports for finance, statements, and logistics.

Qualifications and experience

  • Preferably a tertiary qualification such as a Bachelor's Degree, Diploma, or similar.
  • Experience in Project Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & Pastel.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • 5-10 years of procurement or management experience, with a proven track record as a Procurement Manager.

Additional requirements

  • SA Citizens only.
  • Must be criminal and credit clear.
  • Must reside in the Greater Cape Town area.
