As we expand our footprint in South Africa, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead and optimize our vehicle procurement operations in Johannesburg.
Key Responsibilities
- Procurement Strategy : Develop and implement effective procurement strategies to meet vehicle sourcing targets in alignment with company goals.
- Supplier Management : Identify, onboard, and manage a diverse range of suppliers, including dealerships, fleet owners, and auctions, to secure the best quality and value.
- Market Analysis : Monitor local and regional market trends to identify opportunities for cost optimization and ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiations : Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and build long-term partnerships.
- Performance Tracking : Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate procurement effectiveness and ensure continuous improvement.
- Inventory Alignment : Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure the right vehicles are sourced to match market demand.
- Process Optimization : Implement best practices to streamline procurement processes, reduce costs, and maintain quality standards.
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with overall business objectives.
Requirements
- Education : Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- Experience : At least 5 years of proven experience in procurement, preferably in the automotive industry or a related sector.
- Negotiation Skills : Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Analytical Mindset : Ability to analyze data, forecast trends, and make informed procurement decisions.
- Tech-Savvy : Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership : Experience managing supplier relationships and working collaboratively with internal teams.
- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Flexibility : Willingness to travel locally and regionally as needed.
