Job description

Reporting to the National Procurement Manager, the incumbent will be based at the Shared Service Centre in Weltevredenpark.The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Managing the operational procurement team to ensure improved service levels
• Managing the acquisition and expediting of a goods and services required by all plants within the Business Unit
• Managing Internal compliance and internal customer relationships
• Developing regional commodity strategies
• Executing procurement policy and implementation plans as directed by National Procurement Manager
• Leading Business Unit commodity teams, implementing and managing strategic sourcing
• Vendor selection and performance evaluation
• Implementation of warehouse and MRP Strategy for MRO stock items on hand
• Executing import and export procurement policy
• Procurement representation in community forums

Qualifications, competencies, knowledge and experience required:

• B Degree in Supply Chain or commercial degree (3 years minimum),
• CPM certificate /CIPS Qualification
• At least 7 years working experience in procuring for the mining/manufacturing environment with 2 years in a procurement managerial position
• Experience in managing staff remotely and in conducting strategic sourcing
• Exposure to Supplier Development
• Knowledge of the mining/manufacturing industry
• Knowledge of SAP (MM, FI and PM), CEP process SLA’s, inventory and contract management
• Advanced Excel skills, Good Communication, analytical skills and negotiations skills
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Coaching and mentoring skills, team player and ability to handle complaints and solve problems
• Experience in Community Stakeholder Engagement Forums
• Procurement representation in Community and Government Forums
