PROCUREMENT MANAGER

My client (manufacturing) is currently looking for a Procurement Manager to join their team in Gauteng.

You will be responsible for managing procurement of goods, materials, and services to ensure smooth operations. Focus on cost, quality, delivery, supplier management, contract negotiations, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

They're looking for a well-rounded procurement professional with both strategic and operational experience, ideally in manufacturing, who can optimize suppliers, drive cost savings, and strengthen procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the full buying process ensuring cost, quality, and timely delivery.

  • Apply sourcing policies, manage supplier relationships and contracts.

  • Lead supplier negotiations and contract management.

  • Monitor ERP system for order changes, schedule shifts, and updates.

  • Analyze data to support procurement decisions.

  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while balancing operational needs.

  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and onboard new suppliers.

  • Handle and resolve supplier disputes around pricing, quality, delivery, or invoicing.

  • Provide reporting, updates, and briefings to leadership.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Financially and commercially savvy.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in manufacturing/engineering (preferred).

  • CIPS membership (advantageous).

  • Proven purchasing/procurement experience in manufacturing (preferred)

  • Strong contract management and supplier development experience.

  • ERP system experience (Syspro preferred but not essential).

  • Project management exposure.

  • Advanced MS Office skills.
