Our client is one of the leading global players in the production, research & development, marketing and distribution of high-quality fresh fruit. They are looking for a Procurement Manager to join the team based in Somerset West. The ideal candidate is a strategic and analytical procurement professional with 5–8 years of experience, preferably in packaging or agriculture.

You have strong negotiation skills, business acumen, and the ability to lead and influence key stakeholders. With advanced English proficiency, you communicate effectively and manage RFP / RFQ processes seamlessly. Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI, and information systems, you excel in data-driven decision-making.

Adaptable and detail-oriented, you thrive in a deadline-oriented environment, ensuring procurement efficiency and value optimization. This is a permanent, office-based opportunity (some travel required) where you will be required to:

1. Negotiate with suppliers: Secure favourable terms and agreements with external vendors.
2. Manage contracts: Evaluate existing contracts for cost-efficiency and performance.
3. Optimize supply chains: Establish and maintain efficient supply procedures and services.
4. Manage supplier relationships: Maintain and develop relationships with suppliers.
5. Conduct market research: Stay competitive by researching the market and prices.
6. Review contracts: Ensure favourable contract terms by working with the company's legal department.
7. Investigate opportunities: Related to supplier optimisation and centralised buying opportunities and make recommendations to reduce cost and/or change suppliers.
8. Collaborate with internal teams: Such as sales, operations, quality assurance, and logistics to gather information and align on requirements.
9. Identify ways to improve operational efficiency: And opportunities for savings.
10. Strategic sourcing.
