Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior Purchasing leader in South Africa to oversee the Purchasing Teams in Gauteng. The role focuses on driving cost-efficient supply chain operations, maintaining supplier data, and achieving profitability objectives across the group.

You will develop regular KPIs, optimize inbound freight, and lead process improvements while building strong supplier relationships and ensuring regulatory compliance. Strong ERP and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years Purchasing experience within an international company at senior management level.
• Thorough knowledge of supply chain processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of ERP systems.
• Computer literate using Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word, Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint.

Job description

• Responsible for the effective management and supervision of the ZAF Purchasing Teams
• Drive development of regular reporting including Key Performance Metrics for supply chain management
• Drive the team to achieve group and personal objectives particularly those related to profit improvements, service attainment and personal growth
• Drive the team to ensure that all relevant supplier details and product price information is accurately maintained on the appropriate system
• Drive the team to ensure Inbound Freight costs are managed to optimize costs for the supply chain
• Constantly review and suggest improvements to processes to bring efficiencies/cost savings to the Supply chain
• Develop supplier relationships and introduce measurement tools to improve supplier performance
• Maintain supply agreements and quality agreements with suppliers
• Develop internal relationships, influencing key internal customers to promote professional purchasing principles across the business ensuring timely communication and problem resolution
• Develop regular communication with key stakeholders to address business needs and meet organizational objectives
• Implement and Maintain appropriate Budgetary control, providing all reporting under the guidance of the Executive Director Europe and the Financial Manager ZAF
• Manage and Maintain compliance to Company Quality Systems, Sarbanes Oxley regulations and all other appropriate Regulatory bodies
• Drive and develop individual skills set to meet the requirements of their role, ensuring they have the skills set required to meet their business objectives
• Progress and achieve set objectives as defined by the Departmental Head on a yearly basis
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required
• Supporting the business and reducing high stock levels will be a key focus
