Summary:

A leading South African company specializing in modular wastewater treatment systems for domestic, commercial, industrial, and remote applications is seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to join its growing team. With a focus on sustainability and operational excellence, this role will oversee the procurement function—managing sourcing, negotiations, and purchasing of materials and services. The ideal candidate will have industry knowledge, excellent supplier management skills, and a proven ability to drive cost and time efficiencies while maintaining quality and compliance.

Office-based work and project site visits as required.

Working hours:

Monday – Friday: 07:30 – 16:30 OR 08:00 – 17:00 OR 07:00 – 16:00

Position Details:

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or related fields
• 3+ years' experience in procurement or buying, preferably in engineering, manufacturing, or water/environmental sectors
• Strong technical understanding of water treatment components (e.g., pumps, valves, instrumentation)
• Proven negotiation skills and experience managing supplier contracts
• Proficiency in ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, SYSPRO, Pastel, or similar)
• Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license and own transport (willing to travel to suppliers or project sites)
• Knowledge of BBBEE compliance and local supplier development is advantageous

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Sourcing and procuring equipment, parts, and materials related to water treatment systems
• Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations, negotiating pricing, lead times, and payment terms
• Developing and maintaining preferred supplier relationships and vendor lists
• Ensuring accurate and timely placement of purchase orders and follow-up on deliveries
• Monitoring inventory levels and supporting stock forecasting
• Collaborating with engineering, project management, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement with project timelines and budgets
• Assisting with import/export processes and customs documentation
• Maintaining procurement records, contracts, and documentation for audits and reporting
• Identifying opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and strategic sourcing
• Supporting sustainability initiatives by sourcing eco-friendly and compliant materials
