VIKAND is seeking a Procurement Manager to ensure efficient procurement processes for medical solutions in the cruise and maritime industry. The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day orders, vendor relations, and project involvement while working within a global leading organization. Strong organizational skills and experience in the industry will be essential for adapting to a fast-paced environment.
VIKAND is a global leader in providing onboard medical solutions to a variety of companies with cruise or shipping vessels. The Procurement Manager is Responsible for supporting all procurement matters & procedures, including researching medical equipment supplies, formulary order & management, issuing PO’s, assist in planning of deliveries to clients in the cruise/maritime industry. This role may include supervisory duties, KPI’s, training & development, vendor negotiations, vendor invoice approval, market & product research, and assisting with SOP’s.
To be successful in this role, you should be well-organized, detail oriented and adaptable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Oversee and/or process day-to-day order requirements for biomed and medical operations departments. This will include quotations, negotiations, pricing and purchase orders.
· Client formulary management
· Assist in maintaining QuickBooks database, which will include entering of new items, vendors, terms of payment, SKU management etc.
· Assist in research of items and suppliers to allow for efficient and cost-effective supply chain practices.
· Take an active role in large client project proposals ie new builds and CAPEX.
· Liaison between internal departments, Sales, Accounting and the Logistics department.
· Oversee the tracking, expediting and following up of purchases from vendors to ensure timely delivery and finding alternatives, if necessary.
· Approve invoices for accuracy & establish terms with vendors.
· As our organization migrates away from QuickBooks and into Business Central ERP, additional approval responsibilities will be implemented.
· Vendor Relationship Management is a vital component to this role.
· Other responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· College Degree preferred
· Experience within the cruise/maritime industry strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and biomedical equipment is desired.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Proficiency & experience working with QuickBooks Enterprise, ERP systems, SmartSheet, Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, OneDrive and other various platforms. Expert level knowledge of Excel is required.
· Organizational skills with attention to detail
· Supervisory experience a plus.
· Ability to prioritize and pivot in a fast-paced environment is extremely important.
