Job description

This role supports the organisation in achieving its goals and objectives, as directed by the Manager : Supply Chain Management. Further to this, the functions include operational buying, support to the Supply Chain Department in general administrative duties, data analysis, information gathering, strategic initiative identification, development and execution, contracts administration and management duties. The individual will participate in supplier performance management and administration to ensure compliance with all procurement and contracts management policies.

A starting annual Total Cost to Company package of R 1,035,658.70 (negotiable, commensurate with experience).

Please note: this position is available on a five-year fixed-term contract, renewable.

Key Accountabilities

The main responsibilities of the incumbent will include:

  1. Contracts Governance, Development, Administration: Facilitate the procurement process by sourcing and evaluating supplier quotes, generating and managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and resolving discrepancies to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of goods and services.
  2. Contract Performance and Relationship Management: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with service level agreements, delivery timelines, specifications, and transformation and empowerment conditions.
  3. Reporting and Administration: Prepare and maintain essential reports, including contract registers, spend analysis, and asset registers, while handling all necessary administrative tasks.
  4. Bid and Tender Administration: Coordinate and manage procurement processes, including tenders, bid evaluations, and acquisitions, ensuring compliance with Supply Chain Management (SCM) requirements and delivering regular reports on outcomes and savings.
  5. Procurement Administration: Oversee the procurement process, including preparing bid documents, analyzing quotations, engaging with suppliers, and ensuring the quality, availability, and compliance of goods and services for the maintenance department.
