The Global Department includes disciplines like procurement, public sector management, governance, and anti-corruption. The Procurement Department advances practices and innovations in procurement and open government. The Eastern and Southern Africa (AFE) Region’s Procurement Unit, based in multiple country offices, seeks to recruit a Procurement Analyst in Pretoria to support the South Africa Country Management Unit (CMU) and monitor procurement activities across 14 countries.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Support the APM office in monitoring and reporting procurement progress and post reviews.
  2. Conduct post procurement reviews under supervision for South Africa CMU countries.
  3. Perform fiduciary reviews based on accreditation levels approved by the Chief Procurement Officer.
  4. Champion STEP for Africa South: support external and internal clients with implementation, training, troubleshooting, and updates.
  5. Conduct market research on bidder participation and maintain a supplier database.
  6. Create regular procurement reports and track progress using data from STEP.
  7. Develop interactive dashboards to monitor procurement performance and supplier metrics.
  8. Prepare detailed analytical reports on procurement efficiency and cost-savings.
  9. Assist in coordinating procurement newsletters and regional knowledge exchange activities.
Selection Criteria

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with 2 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of the Bank’s procurement system (STEP) and data analytics is advantageous.

Technical Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience in procurement analysis or related fields, focusing on data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with STEP system in procurement activities.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including PowerPoint and graphics.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations, especially in World Bank projects.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex data.
  • Familiarity with project management tools used in World Bank projects is desirable.
