The Process Optimization Engineer will be responsible for providing process engineering support to the On-Sites Operations teams and implementing optimization strategies via advanced controls.
Key Areas of Responsibilities :
- Provide support to Operations teams to solve and resolve process operating problems, including product quality, plant efficiency, reliability, and operability issues.
- Implement and maintain advanced control initiatives that perform on-line plant optimization based on the established optimization strategy for the plant.
- Provide a depth analysis of plant and facility performance and potential optimization opportunities with the associated financial benefits.
- Drive process safety in your area of responsibility by participating in Management of Change, Operations Hazards Review and Hazard & Operability activities.
- Improve the productivity of process operations by the implementation of advanced controls and IP 21 changes.
- Assist with plant start-up and commissioning activities.
- Report on performance and benefits of new capital improvements.
Essential Requirements :
- BSc / B. Eng in Chemical Engineering, Control Engineering or Mechanical Engineering degree.
- Minimum of 5-8 years proven previous experience in Process Engineering, Operations.
- Process Engineering and / or Advanced Process Controls Engineering.
- High degree of proficiency with Aspen DMC or similar advanced control software.
- Programming experience in SQL, C++ or MATLAB advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively with plant operators, process engineers and plant management.
- Desire to understand optimization and efficiency issues with a drive to implement solutions.
- Understanding of ASU Plant Operation advantageous.
- Computer literate with a high degree of proficiency with MS Excel.
