Top Accountabilities

Operational management

  • Analyze production needs
  • Complete shift handover with the previous shift
  • Identify issues, actions taken, and outstanding tasks
  • Ensure operator handover at each station
  • Engage with operators
  • Move personnel around and assume relied shift foreman duties to prevent production delays
  • Identify and plan for potential challenges
  • Allocate tasks to individuals
  • Coordinate general housekeeping of tunnels and conveyors
  • Plan and coordinate cleaning of scales, silo scales, and saturators
  • Oversee resin changes and auto-filter cloth maintenance
  • Maintain purity levels
  • Maintain optimal sugar colours
  • Meet planned High-Test Molasses (HTM) target volumes

Safety, health and environment

  • Monitor compliance with manufacturing standards, Food Safety and Hygiene regulations, quality assurance procedures, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Issue pre-inspection checklist forms and follow up on completion
  • Maintain ongoing safety awareness
  • Conduct corrective counselling
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports

People engagement, management, and development

  • Interact with employees, provide and clarify instructions, and oversee work procedures related to operations
  • Monitor conduct and performance; implement corrective measures as needed
  • Participate in recruitment processes within the department
  • Develop and update the people/training matrix
  • Conduct on-the-job training
  • Monitor completion of compliance training
  • Address individual performance issues
  • Implement initiatives to improve engagement and employee relations
  • Apply disciplinary procedures, including initiating and chairing inquiries
  • Ensure compliance with THS policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
  • Foster positive workplace interactions and promote a culture of open communication and teamwork
