Job summary

Fluor Corp, a renowned process engineering company in South Africa, is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join its Gauteng team. The role focuses on design, costing, manufacture, and commissioning of heat exchangers and related process plant equipment across diverse industrial sectors.

You will contribute from concept through execution, coordinating with contracts and project teams, while supporting clients and site activities in Gauteng.

Qualifications

• BEng/BSc in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in process engineering, heat exchangers, thermal systems, or industrial plants.
• Experience with thermal design calculations and equipment sizing.
• Experience with cost estimation, tender preparation, and project execution.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid flow.

Responsibilities

• Perform thermal design and calculations for plate and shell & tube exchangers.
• Prepare technical proposals, tenders, quotations, and cost estimates.
• Develop process and equipment designs for project execution.
• Provide technical support to clients and assist with sales activities.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables with project and contracts teams.
• Prepare operating manuals, technical documentation, and vendor data packs.
• Support manufacturing, workshop coordination, and quality control activities.
• Assist with site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Liaise with suppliers, inspection authorities, and customers throughout project execution.
