Job description

Minimum Requirements

  • A degree in Manufacturing Engineering or N6
  • 2-4 years of experience in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Gear manufacturing experience coupled with machining experience is highly beneficial
  • Ability to update and maintain all Control Plans and FMEA RPN reduction activities
  • Experience in coordinating and improving process capabilities throughout the plant
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong initiative and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Good understanding of core tools

Responsibilities

  • Maintain all PPAP documentation, including PFMEA, flow charts, Control Plans, process sheets, and operator instructions
  • Specify and improve manufacturing control systems to ensure safety and efficiency
  • Modify SAP / Mapics process routing for new material or model releases
  • Improve right-first-time (RFT) and FTT metrics through data analysis and process improvements
  • Document process changes following the change management system
  • Implement controls and policies to ensure equipment safety
  • Develop and maintain project timing plans
  • Assist department members in achieving objectives
  • Participate in cross-functional APQP meetings for project launches
  • Collaborate with project management, applications engineering, and design engineering teams to ensure product manufacturability and proper planning
  • Develop and validate new model variants to meet APQP gateways from concept to PSW, including customer-run at the rate
  • Document process capacity and seek continual bottleneck improvements
  • Ensure technical requirements are captured from PFMEA and control plans, specified in tenders, ordered, and validated via PPAP
  • Maintain action plans and trackers for improvement themes
  • Report on action progress in regular meetings
  • Conduct GR&R, capability studies, and detection tests to ensure process robustness and defect-free deliveries
  • Work with maintenance and controls teams to reassess equipment/process design to prevent downtime
  • Provide process support for equipment diagnostics
  • Design and modify jigs, fixtures, and tooling
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Visio, Project) is preferred
  • Travel as necessary to support operations and affiliates
