Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a prominent chemical manufacturer in Bloemfontein, Free State, seeking an experienced Process Engineer to optimise production processes while upholding safety and environmental standards.

You will design, troubleshoot, and implement process improvements, develop P&IDs, and collaborate with R&D, operations, and maintenance teams to deliver reliable, efficient operations at the Bloemfontein site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Process Engineer in chemical manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations for chemical plants.
• Experience with process simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS) is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise chemical manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, yield, and product quality.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
• Monitor process performance using key metrics and conduct data analysis to drive improvements.
• Develop and implement process control strategies and P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Ensure all processes comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with R&D, operations, and maintenance teams on new product introductions and process modifications.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety measures.
