Job description

A leading organisation is seeking an Engineer (Process) to join their team. The primary goal of this role is to optimize process parameters and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency. Responsibilities include designing, building, and commissioning projects, as well as ensuring all operating procedures are documented and followed. All activities and responsibilities align with the company's manufacturing philosophy and best practices.

Responsibilities :

Process Safety Compliance :

  • Prevent occupational and process safety incidents through safe design principles.
  • Conduct risk assessments for tasks and process deviations.
  • Facilitate design reviews, risk assessments, and Hazop studies to minimize project risks.
  • Identify root causes of safety incidents and implement corrective actions.

Drive High Performance :

  • Develop and design processes.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Review and correct deviations in expense reports.
  • Communicate progress on performance indicators across all levels.
  • Identify process deviations, determine root causes, and take corrective actions.
  • Ensure process reliability.
  • Manage costs within budget.
  • Provide technical support to production.
  • Perform mass and energy balancing.
  • Develop process flowsheets, schematics, and control diagrams.
  • Continuously improve processes.
  • Size equipment, procure, and oversee commissioning.

Project and Team Management :

  • Engage regularly with production and stakeholders.
  • Manage resources and projects effectively.
  • Consider safety, maintenance, and capital costs in planning.
  • Procure equipment, instrumentation, piping, and valves.
  • Test control loops.
  • Lead pre-commissioning, cold, and hot commissioning activities.
  • Establish basis of design, conduct feasibility studies, and manage EPC for projects.

Quality Assurance :

  • Monitor and address quality deviations.
  • Ensure projects meet specified standards and quality expectations.

Administrative Excellence :

  • Maintain clear written communication.
  • Prepare capital expenditure proposals with cost-benefit analyses.
  • Generate reports, presentations, and data visualizations.
  • Effective email communication, meetings, and social media engagement.

Requirements :

  • Matric with Maths and Science.
  • BSc in Chemical Engineering.
  • 3-8 years of industrial experience.
  • Competency in CRS Payroll Solutions.
